Brochure
Thora-Cath®
is a soft silastic chest tube used when a patient has a pneumothorax
or hemothorax, which is air or blood in the pleural space (the space
between the lung and the chest wall). This condition does not allow
the lung to inflate, which can be fatal if not treated. In a situation
like this, a chest tube is inserted to provide drainage from the pleural
space.
Thora-Cath® is designed to minimize bruising to the pleura and the chest wall during insertion. The soft, non-wettable silicone material prevents scarring of tissue and debris adhesion.
Biocompatible silicone reduces clotting and encrustation.
Encased radiopaque stripe.
Beveled end hole and two side holes 1 cm apart.
Distal side hole interrupts radiopaque strips for easy identification
on X-ray.
Graduated at 1cm intervals.
Universal hub adapts to suction drainage systems.
Available in three sizes: 9.6 French, 12 French, 14 French.
Provided with stainless steel trocar.
